West Indies named preparatory squad for India Test series

Many major players from the West Indies’ line-up are missing, as most of them are competing in the ongoing ODI World Cup Qualifiers.

In the forthcoming multi-format series, the West Indies are scheduled to face the Indian team. It is important to note that both teams will face off in the series that is scheduled to commence on July 12. Notably, both teams will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is in the series.

The Cricket West Indies announced their 18-man squad for the preparation camp prior to the commencement of the two-match Test series before the series began. The majority of the West Indies’ top players are currently competing in the ongoing ODI World Cup Qualifying tournament.

The camp will commence on June 30 in Antigua under the direction of Windies captain Kraigg Braithwaite. The 18-man roster included Kemar Roach, Jermaine Blackwood, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Raheem Cornwall, among others.

Cricket West Indies utilized Twitter to publicize the camp’s 18-member squad. “Today, the CWI Men’s Selection Panel announced the 18-man squad for the Caribbean preparation camp prior to the commencement of the two-match Test Series against India. Friday, June 30th, camp begins at Antigua’s CCG. The team will travel to Dominica on Sunday, July 9,” tweeted Cricket West Indies.

The Indian team also announced their Test series roster prior to the series. India will travel to the Caribbean in the first week of July as part of their preparations for the upcoming Test series, and they will be eager to familiarize themselves with the conditions.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, as well as many newcomers such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mukesh Kumar, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, comprise the star-studded lineup of the Indian team.
