Rishi Sunak reached Ukraine on Saturday after taking charge of the government in Britain. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, the capital of war-torn Ukraine, and also announced that Britain would increase aid amid the ongoing war with Russia. He also announced an air defense package to help protect Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure from Russian attacks.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that Britain will give a defense package of 50 million pounds to Ukraine. It also includes 125 anti-aircraft guns and anti-drone technology. Dozens of radar and anti-drone electronic warfare capability will also be provided to Ukraine under this UK package. This aid package is also in line with the announcement made by Britain’s Defense Minister Ben Wallace at the beginning of the month to give more than 1000 new anti-air missiles.
Rishi Sunak, who became the Prime Minister of Britain in the month of October itself, praised Ukraine fiercely. He said that it is a pleasure to be in Kyiv, meeting people who are paying such a huge price to protect the principles of sovereignty and democracy. He called Britain’s stand with Ukraine a matter of pride since the beginning of the war. The British Prime Minister also added that we have come today to say that Britain and its allies will stand by Ukraine until the end of this barbaric war and the establishment of peace.
He said that while the Ukrainian army is pushing back the Russian force on the ground, civilians are being bombarded from the air. Rishi Sunak announced the new air defense package and also said that we are also providing humanitarian assistance to protect from the severe cold. Britain has also offered to train the Ukrainian army and is also sending its army doctors and engineers to the area for special assistance.
The memorials of those killed in the war were also visited.

Announced 16 million pounds of humanitarian aid

Britain will also give four million pounds of aid to the International Organization for Migration. The UK government will also fund generators, shelters, drinking water and mobile health clinics.
The UK government has also announced to send more than 10,000 kits to the soldiers of Ukraine to protect them from cold, which will be able to protect them from the cold. Britain has also said that initially eight construction projects have been identified which will be given financial assistance. This will help Ukraine repair critical infrastructure.
