On Wednesday, a woman who was wounded by her husband on Monday passed away while receiving treatment at the SRN hospital in this city. The accused has been apprehended, and efforts are underway to apprehend other members of his family, according to the police.
According to the findings of Neelam’s postmortem examination, the woman was stabbed a total of sixteen times.
According to the information that has been gathered, the deceased person, who has been identified as Neelam Mishra and who lived in the Sarai Taqi region of Jhunsi, was married to a man named Ashish Mishra approximately 13 years ago. The couple currently raises three children. Soon after the couple got married, it is said that Neelam’s husband and her in-laws began to harass her in an effort to get her to pay dowry.
According to Neelam’s older brother Rajendra Pandey, the 18th of August was the day she moved in with her parents.
When her husband rode up on his bike to the house at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, he found her sound asleep in one of the rooms in the back of the house. Ashish was greeted by Rajendra, but he did not provide any sort of answer.
After that, Rajendra went to the bathroom to take a shower while Ashish entered the room in which Neelam was sleeping and stabbed her numerous times, most notably in the stomach and the neck. As soon as Rajendra heard Neelam screaming, he dashed into the room and grabbed Ashish as he was holding the knife.
Upon obtaining information, police arrived and arrested Ashish, while Neelam was taken to SRN hospital.
Tuesday night, Neelam’s condition deteriorated, and she passed away Wednesday morning.
Ashish was incarcerated at the Jhunsi police station, where he reportedly chuckled when reprimanded by officers for assaulting his wife.

Vaibhav Singh, the head of the Jhunsi police station, stated that Ashish confessed to killing his wife over a dispute. On the basis of a complaint from Neelam’s sibling, a FIR has been filed against Ashish, his parents, and other family members.
