External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is currently on a visit to Fiji, stated that this World Hindi Conference will be a Hindi Mahakumbh where people from all over the world can connect and will serve as a partner for the global networking platform pertaining to the language.
At the closing ceremony of the World Hindi Conference, Jaishankar stated that the purpose of the conference is to make Hindi a global language and to provide a forum for all Hindi enthusiasts.
He stated that India has assured Fiji that they will help meet the demand for the teaching of Hindi, Tamil, and numerous other languages.
Jaishankar thanked the government of Fiji, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and the Ministry of External Affairs for their contributions to the success of this event.

He then recalled Fiji’s President Wiliame Katonivere’s remark about Hindi Cinema’s influence, stating that Katonivere stated that Hindi cinema has a significant impact on him, with “Sholay” being his favourite film. He added that Katonivere recalls the song “Wo Dosti” to this day.
The minister of external affairs, who is in Fiji to attend the Hindi World Conference, addressed the Indian diaspora in Suva earlier. “The Indian diaspora has achieved its own milestones and is now an enormous asset to India, the country in which they reside, and the entire world.”
“This is my first trip to Fiji. After two days, I questioned why it had taken me so long to arrive. This has been a very educational trip; I’ve learned a great deal from being here “minister stated.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to publicly and sincerely thank the government of Fiji for collaborating with us on this extremely important cultural and heritage exercise that we conduct regularly. The arrangements made were of the highest calibre “he added.

From February 15 to 17, the 12th World Hindi Conference is being held in Fiji. It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government of Fiji.
