WPL 2023 Eliminator Highlights
WPL 2023 Eliminator: Friday, March 24, at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai, the Mumbai Indians defeated the UP Warriorz by 72 runs in the Eliminator to advance to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 final.
MI is scheduled to face Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals (DC) in the inaugural WPL final at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 26.Nat Sciver-Brunt and Issy Wong excelled for MI in the crucial match. Sciver-Brunt scored 72 runs in 38 balls by hitting nine fours and two sixes. MI were able to set the Warriors a challenging target of 183 thanks to her wicket.
Wong, on the other hand, made history when she became the first bowler in WPL history to record a hat-trick. To accomplish the feat, the 20-year-old English sprinter defeated Kiran Navgire, Simran Shaikh, and Sophie Ecclestone.

Wong concluded with figures of 4-0-15-4, and the over in which she scored her hat-trick was the decisive one. Wong also took the prized wicket of Alyssa Healy, whose 33rd birthday was not particularly memorable.
Healy began her innings with two fours before being caught by MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur. In addition to Sciver-Brunt, Amelia Kerr and Pooja Vastrakar portrayed their respective roles.In the penultimate over of MI’s innings, Kerr scored 29 runs off 19 deliveries and was brutal on Ecclestone. In the first two deliveries of the 20th over, Vastrakar hit Deepti Sharma for a four and a six, injecting momentum into the innings.
Navgire was the best hitter for the Warriorz, scoring 43 runs off 27 balls by hitting four fours and three sixes. Grace Harris attempted to attack Sciver-Brunt as the required run rate increased, but was thwarted by Wong, who was stationed at long range.The Warriorz were wiped out for 110 in 17.4 overs shortly after Navgire was dismissed.
