On Monday (India Standard Time), the 28th Critics’ Choice Awards were presented, and once again, SS Rajamouli’s RRR has made India proud.
RRR took home the trophy for Best Foreign Language Film as well as the Best Song award for Naatu Naatu.
Award nominations for RRR included Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Visual Effects.
The film’s song Naatu Naatu had already won Best Song at the Golden Globes, where it had been up against Rihanna’s Lift Me Up.
This increases RRR’s potential for not only nomination but also victory at the upcoming Oscars ceremony in March.
The murder mystery Glass Onion: Knives Out, written and directed by Rian Johnson, received the award for Best Comedy, while the Korean series Pachinko took home the trophy for Best Foreign Language Series.
The film Everything, Everywhere, All at Once won a number of prestigious accolades as well.
