The first season of Women’s Premier League 2023 will begin on Saturday, March 4 in Mumbai. Follow here details of fixtures, squad rosters, live streaming and when and where to watch, venues and tickets.

WPL 2023: On March 4, the Women’s Premier League will commence its inaugural season. Smriti Mandhana was the most expensive athlete at the inaugural WPL auction, joining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 3.4 crore last month. Meanwhile, Australian superstar Ashleigh Gardner was acquired for 3.2 crore by Gujarat Giants (GG). Saturday will mark the season opener between the Giants and Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

Many of the athletes participating in the tournament recently competed in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, which Australia won by defeating South Africa’s hosts. Natalie Sciver will represent MI in the WPL after they won a bidding contest to acquire her for 3.2 crore. The outstanding T20 World Cup performer Jemimah Rodrigues was acquired by Delhi Capitals (DC) for 2.2 crore.

WPL 2023 live streaming, when and where to watch on television and online live

The inaugural WPL 2023 match will begin at 7.30 p.m. IST on March 4 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Two hours prior, the opening ceremony will commence at 5.30 pm IST. The doors will open at 16:00 IST.

WPL 2023 Opening Ceremony: Performers And Guests

BCCI has already announced that Bollywood actresses Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon, along with rapper and singer AP Dhillon, will perform at the inaugural ceremony of the Women’s Premier League. Shankar Mahadevan will perform at the opening ceremony and also deliver the WPL anthem. As far as the visitor list is concerned, expect prominent politicians from Maharashtra as well as A-list celebrities from B-Town. BCCI secretary Jay Shah and president Roger Binny, in addition to other BCCI officials, will be present.

WPL 2023: How to book tickets?

Tickets for the WPL 2023 are complimentary for women and girls in India. Otherwise for men and boys, they are up for sale on the BookMyShow application, before the season opener begins on Saturday. The price of tickets has been maintained at 100.
