But now a new feature has come, which will solve your problem. Now your domestic gas cylinder will come with a special QR code (Quick Response Code). Along with curbing gas theft, this feature will also be useful in solving gas leaking and safety issues.

Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched this new feature on Wednesday during ‘LPG Week 2022’.

He said in a tweet, “The way to trace the fuel! Tremendous innovation – This QR code will be pasted on the gas cylinders already in use, while they will be welded to the new cylinders. When activated, these gas Will solve many problems like inventory management of cylinders along with pilferage, tracking and tracing.”

 

The Petroleum Minister said that within the next three months, QR code will now be fitted on 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders.

With this QR code on the gas cylinders, their tracking will be easy. It was not easy to find out which cylinder you got, which dealer got it from where, which deliveryman delivered it, etcetera. If gas is stolen, since its tracing will be easy as to where the cylinder went, this risk will also reduce.

Apart from this, the QR code will also keep the details of how many times the cylinder has been refueled, where it has been done, how the safety test has been, etc. This will also make customer service easier.
