Officials are yet to determine if an earthquake in northern India earlier in the day weakened the historic building. Old buildings dot Hazratganj. Alaya Apartments fell today.

Yogi Adityanath’s office issued a statement urging rescuers to find survivors quickly. The Chief Minister’s office warned hospitals should stay alert and help the injured.
