G-20 meeting: Ban imposed on flying of drones,UAVs in Amritsar city

Keeping in view the ongoing G20 Summit, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police on Wednesday banned flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles in the entire Commissionerate area from March 14 to March 21.

G-20 meeting: Due to the ongoing G-20 meeting in Amritsar, police have banned the use of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles from March 14 to 21. The moratorium also applies to the locations of G-20 Education Working Group meetings, where delegates are staying, and their routes, according to a statement from the state government.

From March 14 to March 21, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police prohibited the use of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles throughout the entire Commissionerate.The police commissioner of Amritsar, Naunihal Singh, stated that the meeting venues, places where the delegation will stay, and routes they will take have been designated as red zones, and the flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles has been prohibited in order to bolster security and prevent any untoward incident caused by airborne entities.

In Amritsar, a number of G20 events are taking place, in which delegates from numerous foreign nations are also participating.From March 15-17, the most significant education-related event will occur. In addition, the L20 labour meeting is scheduled for March 19-20.On Tuesday, Punjab’s Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav travelled to Amritsar to review the city’s security arrangements and confer with senior officials.

Prior to the G20 summit in Amritsar, the Punjab Police conducted a special cordon and search operation in the state, during which they conducted investigations at locations and hideouts associated with foreign gangsters and their associates.

On December 1 of last year, India assumed the G20 presidency for a period of one year. Group of 20 (G20) is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s largest established and developing economies.
