Umesh Pal murder case accused killed in police encounter with UP police

In a big development in the Umesh Pal murder case, the accused was killed in an encounter with the Prayagraj Police on Monday.

A man who was a suspect in the murder of Umesh Pal was dead in an encounter.In Prayagraj’s Nehru Park, the Special Operations Group of the Uttar Pradesh Police and the district police shot the accused, identified as Arbaz.Umesh Pal, the key witness in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, was murdered at his domicile in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday evening.

In Prayagraj, an unidentified man shot and killed Umesh Pal as he exited the rear of a Hyundai Creta SUV. Pal was transported to the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, where he passed away while being treated. According to the autopsy report, Pal was shot seven times.

Following Umesh Pal’s murder, his wife Jaya Pal lodged a police report in Prayagraj. Several individuals, including the brother of former member of parliament Atiq Ahmed, his wife Sahista Praveen, his sons Ahzaan and Abaan, and others, have been charged under pertinent provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Explosives Act.

Ghulam Hasan, sibling of BJP leader Rahil Hasan, has been implicated in the murder of Umesh Pal, resulting in his expulsion from the saffron party.
Raju Pal was murdered months after winning the Allahabad (West) assembly seat in his first election by defeating the younger sibling of former representative Atiq Ahmed, Khalid Azim.

The Uttar Pradesh Police have formed ten squads to search for the assailants and are thoroughly inspecting all Prayagraj exit routes, including the borders, bus stops, and airport.

In connection with the homicide of Umesh Pal, the Uttar Pradesh Police have detained over 40 individuals, including Atiq’s relatives. The Uttar Pradesh Police intends to question Atiq Khan, who is presently incarcerated in the Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad, because they believe he hatched the plot to murder Umesh Pal.

Meanwhile, Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen demanded a CBI investigation into the Umesh Pal murder case in a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She accused Prayagraj Police Commissioner Ramesh Sharma and ADG STF Amitabh Yash of conspiring with opponents and accepting contracts for the assassination of her spouse Atiq Ahmed and Atiq Ahmed’s younger brother Ashraf.
