Animal studies indicate that poligeenan can induce ulcers and may lead to colon cancer. Importantly, no studies have been conducted on the impacts of poligeenan on humans. Nevertheless, the Agency for Research on Cancer has classified poligeenan as a potential human carcinogen.

I recommend omitting the whipped cream because it contains dairy. However, if you want a little sweet garnish on your pumpkin spice latte substitute, coconut milk-based whipped cream is a wonderful substitute.
