It was too late for Palestinians to safely escape to the south and for a hospital in Gaza City to be evacuated. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that Israeli forces gave them an order earlier today telling them they had to leave their Al Quds hospital. The original start time was 6 a.m. today, but it was later pushed back because the hospital could not be safely removed and had to keep caring for the sick and hurt, the statement said.

As of this morning, the Israeli military had closed a window for “safe passage.” During that time, Palestinians could travel along two key routes from northern Gaza without being hurt from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time.
