“Witnessed gifting of anti-TB medicine to Maldives @MoHmv, in Male Confident that the medicine will contribute to @governmentmv’s plan to eradicate tuberculosis in Maldives,” the MoS tweeted.

He added that Health Cooperation is an essential pillar of the India-Maldives Bilateral Relationship.

In addition to a robust development partnership, India and the Maldives have been able to establish a close collaboration on all levels, including the political, administrative, business, and interpersonal spheres.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, our relationship has made tremendous strides in recent years.” In recent years, India’s development cooperation portfolio in the Maldives has expanded substantially, Minister of State Muraleedharan said in a Sunday press release in Male.

India has become the most significant source of tourism for the Maldives and the most popular destination for Maldivians traveling abroad.

In recent months, India has surpassed the Maldives as the Maldives’ most important trading partner. We have worked collaboratively to resolve the pandemic’s issues.

According to MoS Muraleedharan’s official press release, India’s comprehensive development partnership with the Maldives includes grants, concessional credit, budgetary support, capacity building, and training assistance.

“We are pleased to see a number of initiatives gaining momentum, being implemented on the ground, and benefiting individuals and the community. Many of these initiatives were inaugurated during the March 2022 and January 2023 visits of EAM Dr. Jaishankar, according to the statement.

“On the connectivity front, the Hanimaadhoo international airport redevelopment project broke ground in January 2023. This endeavor is making rapid progress. I look forward to participating in the groundbreaking ceremony for the redevelopment of Gan International Airport in the presence of His Excellency President Solih later today,” the statement continued.

MoS Muraleedharan emphasized the funding initiatives and added that they are unique and beneficial to the local community.
