Two people who worked for the notorious gangster Sagar Newton and were arrested for having illegal weapons were ordered to stay in police custody for two more days so they could be questioned. This happened on Saturday.
On Friday, his helper Manish aka Lallu from Jawahar Nagar Camp and his friend Aniket Chauhan Talwara from Talwara in Hoshiarpur were both arrested.
The police have also started the process of getting Newton out of Nabha Jail so they can question him.

Sources say that the suspects were planning to steal cars in the city, and it was thought that they would use the cars to help Newton get out of jail.
After interviewing Newton, the situation will become more clear, according to Inspector Amritpal Singh, who is in head of Anti-Narcotics Cell 2 in the police department. His assistants Manish and Aniket have revealed to the police that Newton had struck a contract with a weapon supplier based in Bilali, which is located in the city of Indore in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
They travelled to Indore, which is where the guns were handed over to them by the vendors. According to what he said, they were sitting about doing nothing as they waited for additional instructions from Newton.
On Friday, the police discovered that Manish alias Lallu and Aniket Chauhan Talwara had in their possession six illegal firearms, eight magazines, and twelve bullets. These items were found in their possession by the police. Newton’s cell phone was found and taken into custody by the personnel at Nabha Prison as a result of the revelations made by the accused.
