Sunday, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi sought to allay the fears of migrant workers in Tamil Nadu in the aftermath of rumours that some of them had been attacked in the state by stating that the locals were kind and friendly.

The Raj Bhavan stated in tweets in Tamil, English, and Hindi that employees need not be alarmed.
“Governor urged North Indian labourers in Tamil Nadu not to panic and feel insecure, as the people of Tamil Nadu are very kind and friendly, and the state government is devoted to ensuring their safety,” Raj Bhavan tweeted on its official account.
Saturday, Chief Minister M K Stalin assured his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar that all migrant workers in the state were secure and that the police had filed charges against two Hindi-language daily journalists for spreading rumours.

The former leader of the AIADMK, O Panneerselvam, stated that it was the responsibility of the state government to ensure the safety of migrant employees and provide employment opportunities for Tamil Nadu youth in state-based businesses.
