By 2024, Moscow “could have nuclear super torpedoes in the Pacific Ocean.”

Plans to build it in the Pacific Ocean. It will be a base for nuclear subs that will carry nuclear-capable super torpedoes called Poseidon

Russia wants to finish building its coastal facilities by the beginning of 2024. State-run news service TASS said that the country plans to build it in the Pacific Ocean. It will be a base for nuclear subs that will carry nuclear-capable super torpedoes called Poseidon.
Russia made its first set of Poseidon torpedoes in January. This was four years after President Vladimir Putin announced the new type of strategic nuclear weapon and confirmed that it would have its own nuclear power source.

The story also gives a few facts that are known to be true about the Poseidon. However, it is basically a mix of a torpedo and a drone that can be fired from a nuclear submarine.

TASS said that the bombs are being made for use on the nuclear subs Belgorod and Khabarovsk.

A defense source who did not want to be named told TASS that work on building buildings on the coast of Kamchatka to house two special subs will be finished early next year.

The ballistic nuclear missile submarine base of the Russia Pacific Fleet is on the southern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East.

The eastern and western edges of the Kamchatka Peninsula are the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Okhotsk.

The source told the state news service TASS that the Submarine Forces of the Pacific Fleet are making a new division that will include Belgorod, Khabarovsk, and other subs.

The person said that the new subs with special tasks will help with “strategic deterrence” tasks.

The big boost to the nuclear base comes as tensions between the U.S. and China over who has the most power in the Western Pacific are growing.

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, said on Sunday that Moscow is not making a military union with Beijing. However, both he and Xi Jinping, the leader of China, promised stronger ties last week, including in the military field.
