The Congress’s internal schism began to emerge at roughly the same time as the time for state assembly elections approached. Chhattisgarh Congress in-charge Kumari Selja’s letter from June 21, 2023 has just begun circulating online, signaling that tensions between State Congress President Mohan Markam and Kumari Selja have worsened.
The letter to Mohan Markam appears to demand that all of the Congress State President’s Chhattisgarh appointments be nullified immediately and that Ravi Ghosh be named Mahamantri of the Congress organization and administration.

Markam told the press that until the new list is produced, the newly appointed officials will carry out their duties in accordance with the law.
Baghel is dissatisfied with the newly elected officials.
On the list of new office bearers issued by the Congress state president two days ago, we find Arun Sisodiya in charge of organization and administration, Ravi Ghosh in charge of Bastar, Amarjeet Chawala in charge of Raipur, Chandrashekhar Shukla in charge of Mohla Manpur, and Yashwardhan Rao in charge of training.
Chief Minister Baghel, according to the sources, voiced his discontent with the list during a meeting convened at the Chief Minister’s official house after the order was distributed. After the discussion was over, Selja rescinded the directive.
After that, everyone in Chhattisgarh state was talking about the conflict, and the cracks in the ruling Congress party were exposed despite repeated promises of unity.
Indifference to the aboriginal communities of the state
Leaders from the competing BJP party have since been relentless in their attacks on the Congress party over the matter. Dr. Raman Singh, a former chief minister of Chhattisgarh, lashed out on Twitter, saying that Baghel’s decision to reverse the order showed his true feelings about tribal state president Mohan Markam, which were previously expressed by his discomfort with the photo of Markam.
Renuka Singh, a minister of state in the central government, has declared that any group lacking in discipline is destined to create anarchy.
At the height of the issue, when the media was trying to interview her, she purposefully avoided them at the airport in Raipur and flew to Delhi.
