External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to depart on a four-day official visit to Tanzania on Wednesday in order to engage in high-level discussions regarding the expansion of bilateral cooperation between India and Tanzania.
During his visit, Jaishankar will meet with the country’s senior leadership and attend a reception aboard the Indian Naval Ship Trishul.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement, “EAM will first visit Zanzibar from 5 to 6 July 2023, where he will visit a water supply project funded by the Government of India line of credit, call on top leadership, and also attend a reception onboard the Indian Naval Ship Trishul, which is visiting Tanzania.”
The external affairs minister will visit the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salaam on the 7th and 8th of July to co-chair the 10th India-Tanzania Joint Commission Meeting with his counterpart.
Jaishankar will also contact the country’s highest-ranking officials, including several cabinet ministers.
During the visit, he will meet with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for India and launch a business meeting between India and Tanzania.
The minister of foreign affairs will also address the Indian diaspora and unveil the statue of Swami Vivekananda in Dar es Salaam.
According to MEA, India and Tanzania have traditionally enjoyed close and cordial relations.

The statement continued, “The EAM’s visit to Tanzania will further strengthen bilateral relations between our two countries.”
