Delhi Drug Syndicate: Special Cell of Delhi Police busted an interstate drug syndicate and arrested 3 members of that gang. The members of this gang were involved in smuggling of banned drugs for the last 8 years. The Special Cell team of Delhi Police recovered 2,36,080 tablets of Tramadol, 2,23,800 tablets of Alprazolam and 150 bottles of Codeine from their possession. The police caught these accused by laying siege after getting the information of the informer.
Rs 15 crore drug recovered
Delhi Police said that 236080 tablets of ‘Tramadol’ and 223800 tablets of ‘Alprazolam’ drugs, 150 bottles of Codeine were recovered from the accused, which are worth about Rs 15 crore in the international market. The accused arrested by the police have also been identified. While giving information, the police said that the accused have been identified as Rishi Kumar Singh (29) resident of Burari, Kuldeep Kumar (26) resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and Anurag Kumar Sinha (48) resident of Timarpur.
Accused involved in drug trafficking for eight years
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Rajeev Ranjan Singh said that two members of the syndicate have been involved in drug trafficking for eight years. Police said that information was received on Tuesday that Singh would deliver a large consignment of drugs to Kumar near the Wazirabad flyover. At around quarter to seven in the evening, Singh and Kumar reached the spot and started shifting the drug-filled boxes from scooties and e-rickshaws to a van. After this, the team surrounded them and caught them. Then during the course of investigation, Sinha, the source of the recovered banned substance, was nabbed from Nehru Vihar and his godown shop in Mukherjee Nagar was raided.
