The rain never stopped falling on parts of Hyderabad, which led to a lot of flooding and traffic jams in the Telangana city. Because it was raining so hard, the district office closed all schools on Monday.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Hyderabad district collector Anudeep Durishetty said, “Important Announcement: Due to the forecast of heavy rain in Hyderabad, the government has closed all schools in Hyderabad today.” Stay inside to be safe.”

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city on Tuesday. The Hyderabad Met Department has predicted that light to moderate showers and thundershowers are very likely to happen at most places in Telangana today. In some districts of the state, an orange alert has been issued.

Mancherial, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthi are also on orange watch for today.
The commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has asked people to stay inside unless there is an emergency. This is because more than 3,000 city workers are out in the streets making sure that flooded areas are cleared. Citizens have also been given a number to call for help if they need it.

The city council said, “Please don’t leave your house for the next few hours unless it’s very important.” Our teams, which are made up of more than 3000 people, are out cleaning water from the city. For help from the GHMC-DRF, people can call 040-21111111 or 9000113667.”
Heavy rain is also expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe from September 4-8, but not in Telangana.
