Disruptions begin second budget session; Nadda insults Rahul Gandhi, Kharge responds.

On Friday, the proceedings in the two Houses of Parliament were disrupted for the fifth consecutive day as the governing BJP and opposition parties attempted to raise their concerns with vehemence.

Outside of Parliament, leaders from the BJP and the Congress continued to attack each other over comments of Rahul Gandhi and the Adani issue.

After the Lok Sabha had adjourned for the day, opposition members approached the podium to demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation into the Hindenburg-Adani dispute. Members of the BJP demanded an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in the United Kingdom, alleging that he had disparaged the country’s institutions.

Congress claimed that the audio was suppressed after they chanted that Rahul Gandhi should be permitted to respond to allegations made against him by BJP leaders. Members of Congress claimed that there was no audio for approximately twenty minutes of House proceedings.

According to government sources, the audio was suppressed due to a “technical error.”

The Rajya Sabha was also interrupted and adjourned for the day. Earlier, the House addressed a portion of the listed agenda.

On March 13, the second portion of the Budget session commenced.

Outside the Parliament, BJP leaders continued to assault Rahul Gandhi for his remarks made during his visit to the United Kingdom.

JP Nadda, chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stated that Rahul Gandhi has become an integral component of the “anti-nationalist toolkit.”

“It is regrettable that the Congress party engages in anti-national activities. After being repeatedly denied by the nation, Rahul Gandhi is now a permanent addition to this anti-nationalist toolkit, Nadda told Media.

He accused Rahul Gandhi of pursuing “international intervention in India’s internal affairs.”

“Rahul Gandhi, what are your intentions when you call for foreign intervention in India’s internal affairs? “At a time when India is becoming the fifth largest economy in the world and is hosting G20 meetings, Rahul Gandhi insults the nation and the Parliament while on foreign soil,” Nadda said.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge struck back at Nadda over his remarks against Rahul Gandhi.

“They (BJP) are anti-nationalists themselves. They never participated in India’s independence movement and laboured for the British, yet they accuse others of being anti-national? They’re doing this to divert attention away from unemployment and inflation,” Kharge claimed.

“Could Rahul Gandhi ever be unpatriotic? Are those who discuss democracy anti-national? I condemn JP Nadda’s remarks. There is no reason to apologise. This will be met with a robust response in the Parliament. “Because Rahul Gandhi will respond himself, they (BJP) are afraid,” he questioned.

Kharge asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had repeatedly “insulted” the nation.

“Prime Minister Modi stated that people and businessmen ask him what sin he committed to be born in India.” Whoever insulted the nation’s citizens is dubbing us anti-national? “He should first apologize,” said Kharge.

Rahul Gandhi declined to respond to Nadda’s remark directed at him.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur criticised Rahul Gandhi for his “unfortunately I am an MP” remark at a press conference, which he later corrected after Congress leader Jairam Ramesh brought it to his attention.

The video of Jairam Ramesh correcting Rahul Gandhi during a press conference went viral.

“Sometimes, the truth comes out naturally, and as Rahul correctly stated, it is unfortunate that he is a member of the Parliament because of the way he uses foreign soil to defame and spread lies about the same prestigious institution, the Parliament of India,” Thakur told the media.

“Today, the acronym RAHUL means ‘Regretful Awful Hateful Ungrateful Liar,'” he added.

The Union Minister stated that Rahul should come and apologise without conditions.

“However, he continues to attach conditions to that. Is he exempt from the laws of the land? Is he above the House’s rules and procedures? Does the Gandhi family still believe they are superior to the nation and parliament?” Thakur inquired.

“He (Rahul Gandhi) must realise that Parliament is managed in accordance with the rules and procedures of the House and the directives of the honourable Speaker. However, this is only possible if he attends the House and reads the norms and procedures. Thakur added, “I believe he will comprehend this and apologise to the House and the Parliament.”

After four ministers made allegations against him for his remarks in the United Kingdom, Rahul said on Thursday he intended to address Parliament in detail.

“Therefore, if the Indian democracy were operational, I would be able to voice my opinion in Parliament. Thus, what you are essentially witnessing is a test of Indian democracy. After four BJP leaders have made an accusation against a Member of Parliament, will that Member of Parliament be given the same opportunity to respond as those four Ministers, or will he be told to be quiet? This is the true question facing this country right now, said Rahul Gandhi.

Shashi Tharoor, leader of the Congress, defended Rahul Gandhi, and he has no reason to apologise.

“Rahul Gandhi never demanded that foreign forces enter our nation in order to protect our democracy. He has not said anything for which he should apologise. Tharoor told ANI that it is preposterous.

Democracy in our nation is in peril, and everyone should be aware of this. I did not detect any errors,” added Congressman Tharoor.

In his lecture at Cambridge University, Rahul Gandhi stated that it has been widely reported that “the Indian democracy is under pressure and is under attack.”
