BJP protests with cows against Karnataka Minister’s statement

State minister K Venkatesh’s recent comments on cow slaughter sparked a controversy, which prompted BJP supporters in Karnataka to conduct a protests with cows against the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government.

Venkatesh had stated on Saturday that if bison can be slaughtered, then cows should be as well. This did not sit well with the BJP, who attacked the Siddaramaiah government severely.

On Monday, Siddaramaiah defended Venkatesh’s claim that the previous BJP government’s cow slaughter policy lacked clarity; this issue will be discussed at the next Cabinet meeting.

In addition, the Karnataka BJP alleged that the state administration is not fulfilling its five election promises.

Siddaramaiah has stated that the BJP lacks the moral authority to protest against the electoral assurances of the Congress. After decorating the statue of former Karnataka Chief Minister Devaraja Arasu on the grounds of the Vidhana Soudha, Siddaramaiah addressed the media.

“BJP is an anti-people party,” he said, adding that the opposition party had plundered the state while in office. The BJP ceased giving students benefits under the Indira Canteen, Shoe Bhagya, and bicycle programs.

Siddaramaiah stated that the State government will provide the people with 10 hours of free electricity and will also cancel all outstanding debts.
