If Rajya Sabha rejects Delhi ordinance: Kejriwal

If the ordinance empowering the Lieutenant Governor can be resisted in the Rajya Sabha, Kejriwal said it will be a semifinal before 2024.

On Sunday, the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, met with the chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, and stated that if all opposition parties unite against the ordinance, the bill can be defeated in the Rajya Sabha. Then, there will be a semi-final before 2024, and it will be evident that the BJP will be defeated. “Nitish Kumar stated that he remains with us and will fight against the injustice done to Delhi by the federal government. Nitish Kumar is currently uniting the opposition throughout the nation. “I told him that the bill can be defeated in the Rajya Sabha if all non-BJP parties unite against it,” Kejriwal said.

Nitish Kumar stated that the Center’s action regarding the Delhi ordinance is very surprising. We naturally support Kejriwal. Nitish Kumar stated, “We are attempting to unite the opposition parties in all states and end the climate of hatred and conflict.”

Semifinal before 2024 if Rajya Sabha rejects Delhi ordinance: Kejriwal | Latest News India - Hindustan Times

“Eight days after the Supreme Court delegated all authority to the elected government of Delhi, the Centre enacted an ordinance to incapacitate the government of Delhi.” Now, the ordinance grants the LG complete authority; he will govern Delhi. “The verdict of the Supreme Court was unanimous, and it is unconstitutional that it has been reversed,” Kejriwal stated.

The AAP has already decided to challenge the ordinance introduced by the law ministry on Friday before the Supreme Court. The Centre has also lodged a petition for review of the earlier ruling with the Supreme Court.

As the decade-long conflict between the Lieutenant Governor and the Delhi government escalates, the BJP has stated that the ordinance is necessary to maintain Delhi’s dignity after the AAP government resorted to hooliganism in response to a Supreme Court order.

The authority over government officials stationed in Delhi is the contentious issue at hand. After the Supreme Court ruled that the Delhi government has the authority to transfer personnel, the AAP government transferred Ashish More, the services secretary. IAS officer More, on the other hand, lodged a complaint against minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, claiming that the minister harbored a grudge against him.

The office of the LG reported receiving complaints from chief secretary Naresh Kumar, special secretaries Kinny Singh and YVVJ Rajasekhar, and power secretary Shurbir Singh. Rajasekhat supervised the renovation of Kejriwal’s residence.
