Foreign Minister Jaishankar reached Vienna from Cyprus as part of the second leg of the two-nation tour. He made this statement while addressing the overseas Indians in Vienna. Expressing deep concern about the Ukraine war, India has said that in such a situation it is necessary for Russia and Ukraine to return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy.
Expressing concern over the situation in Ukraine, India’s Foreign Minister Jaishankar said on Sunday that India has been in favor of peace since the beginning and for this both the countries will have to forget the differences and return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy.
Jaishankar reached Vienna from Cyprus as part of the second leg of the two-nation tour. He made this statement while addressing the overseas Indians in Vienna.
He said that the Ukraine war is a matter of deep concern. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in September that this is not an era of war. You cannot resolve differences through violence. Therefore, it has been our endeavor since the beginning that Russia and Ukraine return to the path of diplomacy and peace. We have talked to President Putin and Zelensky many times in this regard. I myself have spoken to my colleagues in Russia and Ukraine.
He further said that we know that this problem cannot be solved easily. But it is also necessary that those who believe in dialogue should speak clearly in this regard. We have always been towards peace and a large part of the world wants peace like us.
Let us tell you that India has not officially condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine. India has always said that this situation should be resolved through dialogue.
