Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the election-bound southern state of Karnataka to inaugurate the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Chikkaballapura and the highly anticipated Whitefield to KR Puram metro line in Bengaluru.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi rode the Bengaluru metro after the Whitefield to KR Puram line was inaugurated.Basavaraj Bommai, the state’s chief minister, greeted him upon his arrival. The Prime Minister also presented flowers to the civil engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya at his birthplace, Muddenahalli. He was accompanied by CM Bommai to Sir M Visvesvaraya’s memorial.

CM Bommai shared a video of the prime minister speaking at the inauguration of the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, a free medical college and hospital. PM Modi also tweeted that he was “thrilled” to be in Karnataka.
The Prime Minister extolled the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research for its initiative to offer free medical education. He also stated that there were less than 380 medical colleges in India in 2014, whereas there are now over 650.

PM Modi then arrived in Bengaluru to inaugurate the 13.71-kilometer (km) portion of the phase 2 extension project of the Bengaluru metro from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to KR Puram.
CM Bommai provided images of the prime minister purchasing a metro ticket at the Whitefield metro station. Modi then rode the first metro journey on the new segment and interacted with individuals from various backgrounds, including construction workers, metro employees, and students.

The stretch was constructed at a cost of approximately 4,250 crores in an effort to improve mobility and reduce traffic congestion in the metropolis.On April 9, PM Modi will kick off a three-day mega event in Mysuru. His repeated trips to Karnataka occur in the context of May’s crucial assembly elections in the state.
