India will face West Indies in the third T20I of the India Tour of West Indies 2023 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on August 8. Two matches have already been played in the series, both of which were quite exciting and concluded with West Indies prevailing on both occasions. India is currently in do or die situation in which they must win this match to remain in the tournament.
In the second T20I match of the series, which was contested at the same stadium where India won the toss and elected to bat, both teams faced off. Continuing their trend, India began poorly and lost Shubhman Gill early. Due to a shortage, Suryakumar Yadav shortly joined him.
The duo of Tilak and Kishan went on to form a long-lasting partnership, during which Tilak scored his first T20 International fifty. Due to a little assistance from the Indian lower order, India was able to post a respectable total of 152 runs.
West Indies were not too far behind India, as they only lost two wickets for a total of two runs. Nicholas Pooran was in the mood to steal the show as he smashed another fifty and placed his team in a favourable position after India’s captain Pandya had provided a solid start.
The Indian bowling attack did an excellent job of regaining control of the game by taking four wickets in quick succession. West Indies were left with only two wickets to pursue the total, and Alzarri Joseph and Akeel Hosein did not let them down. West Indies won another nail-biter by a two-wicket margin.
IND VS WI 3RD T20I: PITCH REPORT
The pitch at the track at Guyana’s Providence Stadium is quite advantageous for batsmen. Pacers can get some assistance from the pitch and swing the ball both ways, while batters would seek to exploit the pitch’s batting nature. Teams that win the toss and elect to bowl average 156 runs in the first inning.
