Mallikarjun Kharge condemns Poonch terror attack, says Country is united against terrorism

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge vehemently condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district that claimed the lives of five soldiers and asserted that the nation is united against terrorism.

On Thursday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge vehemently condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district that claimed the lives of five soldiers and asserted that the nation is united against terrorism.

Mallikarjun Kharge took to Twitter and stated, “Strongly condemn the terrorist attack on a military vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch District.” Our most sincere condolences are extended to the families of the 5 Rashtriya Rifles Bravehearts. Our sympathies are with the injured service members. We are unified in our opposition to terrorism.”

Congressman Rahul Gandhi expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and offered his condolences to the families of the five soldiers killed in the terrorist attack.

Earlier in the day, army jawans reported that grenades thrown by terrorists caused a fire in an army vehicle in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir that claimed the lives of five personnel.

The army issued a statement regarding the incident, stating that terrorists opened fire on the vehicle, which then caught fire after pyrotechnics were thrown by the terrorists.

Unidentified terrorists fired upon an Army vehicle traveling between Bhimber Gali and Poonch in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir today. “Terrorists likely used grenades to set fire to the vehicle,” the army said in a statement.

“Five personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles Unit deployed in this area for Counter Terrorist operations have tragically lost their lives in this incident,” the statement continued.

Army Chief General Manoj Pande briefed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the demise of five soldiers in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, according to defence sources on Thursday.

Sources indicate that soldiers on the ground were monitoring the situation and taking appropriate action.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, demanded the harshest punishment for those “behind this cowardly attack.”
