Due to an increase in coronavirus cases in some countries, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday that passengers will need a negative RT-PCR test report even if they are just passing through China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, or Thailand on their way to an Indian airport. This is true even if they are coming from a different country.
In a letter to the states, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the guidelines had been changed because Covid-19 cases were getting worse in some countries, especially China, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and Japan. The new regulations went into effect on January 1.

A few days ago, people who are coming India from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand will need a negative Covid report from the RT-PCR test starting on January 1, 2023.
According to the rules, the test must be done within 72 hours of the trip to India, and the negative RT-PCR test report must be posted on the Air Suvidha portal before they leave.
The move comes at a time when there are more cases of Covid-19 in China and other East Asian countries.
This is in addition to the random tests that are done on 2% of all international passengers on all international flights that land in India, no matter where they left from.
