During a television debate, Shoaib Jamai, who is at the center of a controversy due to his assertion that “Akhand Bharat for Muslims” should be created, was seen getting battered.

A video of television debate panelist Shoaib Jamai being heckled and then asked to exit the program has gone viral, eliciting responses from a number of well-known television debate panelists and political leaders. Sharing the ubiquitous video, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) wrote, “Indian news channels provide superior entertainment to OTT platforms.” Shehzad Poonawalla, national spokesman for the BJP, stated that he would not participate in any news channel debate in which Shoaib Jamai was also a panelist. “For some time, this man has violated all boundaries of civility and decorum. While I cannot control which television network invites him, I will not participate in any television debate with him,” Poonawalla said.

Co-panelists Subuhi Khan and Shoaib Jamai could be seen engaging in a physical altercation in one of the viral videos, after which Jamai was asked to exit the show.

The July 7 release of the Sanjay Puran Singh-directed film ’72 Hoorain’ was the subject of the television discussion. In a lengthy Twitter post, Shoaib Jamai described the assault and said it was unfortunate and that he was verbally abused by the co-panelist, but he did not wish to exaggerate the situation.

Shoaib Jamai, the chairman of the India Muslim Foundation, has received criticism for allegedly inciting remarks. In one such instance, he stated that India will become Akhand Bharat when 25 billion Muslims from Bangladesh, 25 billion Muslims from Pakistan, and 25 billion Muslims from India unite. He clarified that he did not intend to use hate speech against Hindus.
