Later today Rahul Gandhi will address British parliament

The address comes a day after the former Congress chief interacted with the Indian diaspora and attended an event by the Indian Journalists’ Association.

Rahul Gandhi will address British parliament: Congressman Rahul Gandhi, who is presently on a 10-day visit to the United Kingdom, will deliver a speech in the Rahul Gandhi will address Grand Committee Room of the Palace of Westminster to UK MPs, Lords, Baronesses, and other attendees. This comes one day after the former Congress leader met with the Indian diaspora and attended an Indian Journalists’ Association event.

“The debate must encompass the cultural, social, and economic ties that bind both countries, as the people are the living bridge,” Virendra Sharma, the Chair of the Indo-British APPG and an MP of Indian origin who organised the parliamentary event, told India Today TV.

Sharma clarified that the speech would take place in one of the “parliamentary committee rooms,” as opposed to the chambers, and elaborated that the real interest is to see “if the Congress party comes back to power, how they will deal with the future leaders and governments of Britain, particularly when India and the United Kingdom are both fundamentally key allies, democratic, progressive, and committed to a rules-based international order.”

This week, Rahul Gandhi will conclude his tour of the United Kingdom with a speech on geopolitical issues at the Chatham House think tank in London.

WHAT RAHUL GANDHI SAID IN UNITED KINGDOM

Gandhi launched a new attack against the BJP on Sunday, stating that he is not afraid of criticism and that the conflict is between courage and cowardice, as well as love and enmity.
“The more they attack me, the better it is for me, because the more I comprehend, the better off I am.” It is a battle between bravery and cowardice. It is a battle between reverence and disdain, between adoration and loathing. “As I said during the Yatra, we want to open a shop that promotes love in the marketplace of hatred,” he said amid applause.

The 52-year-old, who had been invited to deliver a lecture at the University of Cambridge, conveyed his regret that Indian political leaders are unable to freely address a university in India in this manner.Gandhi stated, “The pleasant ambiance (at Cambridge University) made me realise that an Indian political leader can give a speech at Cambridge University and Harvard University, but not at an Indian university.”

“The reason for this is that our government does not permit the discussion of any oppositional ideas or concepts.” The same thing occurs in the House of Representatives when there are essential matters to discuss, such as demonetisation, the Goods and Services Tax, or the fact that Chinese citizens are residing on our territory “he said.

He then reiterated that he was compelled to undertake his “Bharat Jodo Yatra” because “the BJP has captured” the institutions that protect democracy and permit free speech.

In an attack on the BJP, the former head of the Congress stated, “On the other hand, we have an ideology of hatred and violence, a disdainful ideology that attacks individuals for their ideas. And you must have observed that this is characteristic of the BJP and the RSS.”
