Mumbai News: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized protests in all the six Lok Sabha constituencies of Mumbai on Saturday. The protest sought an apology from Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leaders for ‘insulting’ Hindu deities and for allegedly trying to create controversy about BR Ambedkar’s birthplace. Taking out a march against the Eknath Shinde-led government, demanding the removal of Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for “insulting” Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and others.
BJP made this allegation
The BJP alleged that Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) deputy leader Sushma Andhare had insulted Hindu gods and saints. The party also targeted Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for saying that B. R. Ambedkar was born in Maharashtra. Ambedkar was born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. During the protest, BJP workers and leaders asked MVA leaders to apologize for the comments made by Andhare and Raut.
The MVA comprises the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress. BJP workers also protested against the remarks made by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP MLA from Vile Parle, Parag Alavani, said, “Pakistan is not in a position to comment on India and its leaders.” Taking a dig at Andhare, he said, “It is unfortunate that some people consider it fashionable to talk against saints and gods.”
