Joe Biden, Macron, Rishi Sunak hail Air India’s ‘historic’ multi-billion dollar deal

US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hailed Air India’s multi-billion dollar deal to buy planes from Airbus and Boeing.

World leaders, including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and UK Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch, praised Air India’s multibillion-dollar purchase of 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing.

Joe Biden emphasised how the Aviation India-Boeing transaction will support over one million American employment in 44 states and assist Air India in meeting the increasing demand for air travel in India.

“The United States will and can lead the world in manufacturing. Biden issued a statement announcing the purchase of over 200 American-made aircraft by Air India’s through a historic arrangement with Boeing.

In a virtual event, French President Emmanuel Macron hailed the Air India-Airbus partnership as a new triumph in the aircraft industry.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak praised the “landmark” agreement between Air India, Airbus, and Rolls-Royce, stating that it proves that the sky is the limit for the UK’s flourishing aerospace industry.

“It will create better-paid jobs and new possibilities in manufacturing centres from Derby to Wales so that we can develop the economy and support our goal to level up – contributing to the achievement of my five national priorities,” he said.

 

“By establishing trade relations with emerging economic powers such as India, we will ensure that British enterprises remain at the forefront of global growth and innovation,” he continued.Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch of the United Kingdom stated that the agreement is a boost for UK exports as we want to sell $1 trillion worth of products and services annually by the end of the decade.

“We are currently pursuing a trade agreement with India that may increase commerce by £28 billion per year by 2035. “Successes in exporting such as these are a significant step towards a closer commercial connection between our nations,” he said.

The purchase, according to Mukesh Aghi of the US-India Strategic Alliance Forum, is evidence of the strengthening of the US-India business partnership.”We applaud Air India for purchasing a record-breaking 470 jets from Airbus (250) and Boeing” (220). It is one of the largest purchases in the history of commercial aviation, he said.
