Yamuna Alert:Several regions of the country have experienced flooding-like conditions due to the monsoon’s persistent rainfall over the past few days. The situation is comparable in the nation’s capital, where the government of Delhi issued a flood warning on Sunday after Haryana discharged more than one million cusecs of water into the Yamuna from the Hathnikund barrage. The India Meteorological Department(IMD) reported that Sunday’s rainfall in Delhi was the highest for a single July day since 1982.
The Yamuna River has reached the level of the alert. The water level in the river was measured at 204.63 meters at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. At 1 o’clock in the afternoon, the water level in the Yamuna was increased by the release of 1,90,837 cusecs from the Hathinikund barrage.

An interaction between a western disturbance and monsoonal winds is causing an intense rainfall episode over northwest India, including Delhi, which experienced the first “very heavy” rainfall of the season, according to the IMD.
In addition, the IMD has issued an orange and red alert for Uttarakhand, signifying a “very high risk of heavy to very heavy rainfall.” In addition, a yellow alert has been issued for Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
