Jaishankar attended the signature of an agreement for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology IIT Madras campus in Zanzibar

The External Affairs Minister, DrHmwinyi, tweeted after meeting with the president of Zanzibar.Jaishankar also attended the signature of an agreement for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology IIT Madras campus in Zanzibar, and he stated that this demonstrates India’s commitment to the Global South.Witnessed the signing of the accord to establish a iitmadras campus in Zanzibar.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Zanzibar on Wednesday for a two-day official visit during which he will meet with the senior leadership and attend a reception aboard the visiting Indian Naval Ship Trishul.

”Landed in Zanzibar. Thank Tourism Minister Simai Said for the cordial reception. Expect my engagements in Tanzania to further strengthen our historic partnership,” Jaishankar tweeted upon his arrival in Tanzania.

Jaishankar will visit Zanzibar on the 5th and 6th of July, where he will visit a water supply project financed by a line of credit from the Government of India and meet with the top leadership.

Jaishankar also attended the signature of an agreement for the establishment of the Zanzibar campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and stated that it demonstrates India’s commitment to the Global South.

”Witnessed the signing of the agreement to establish the IIT Madras campus in Zanzibar. Appreciate President @DrHmwinyi’s attendance, as well as that of his Ministers. This historic action demonstrates India’s dedication to the Global South. He will also attend a reception aboard the Indian Naval Ship Trishul, which is visiting Tanzania, according to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs.

The External Affairs Minister will then visit the Tanzanian city of Dar-es-Salaam from July 7-8, where he will co-chair the 10th India-Tanzania Joint Commission Meeting with his counterpart and meet with the country’s senior leadership, including a number of Cabinet Ministers.

During the visit, he will meet with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for India and launch a business meeting between India and Tanzania.

India and Tanzania have enjoyed historically close and cordial relations. The release stated that Jaishankar’s visit to Tanzania will strengthen bilateral ties between India and Tanzania.
