NIA Raids in Jammu & Kashmir: National Investigation Agency conducted raids at approximately eight locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday in connection with a case that had been spontaneously registered as RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU on 21 June 2022 by the NIA Police Station in Jammu. According to sources, the number of raided locations could increase as subsequent investigations occur. According to sources within the agency, incidents involving the murdering of civilians, the targeting of security forces, and the propagation of communal strife extend beyond those reported over the past year; the agency is taking all of this into account.
It is pertinent to note that the NIA has assumed responsibility for the case of civilian killings in the Dhangri area of Rajouri, where seven civilians were killed in twin terror attacks on January 1 and 2, 2018, with the intent not only to target minorities but also to spark communal clashes in the Jammu region. The perpetrators of the atrocious crime are still at large, possibly in Rajouri’s upper reaches.
Earlier in December 2022, the NIA conducted searches at 14 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, in the Districts of Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, Sopore, and Jammu, in the same case involving a criminal conspiracy to carry out terrorist and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and OGWs of various proscribed organisations and their affiliates/offshoots, operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their Pakistani commanders/hand They employ cyberspace to carry out terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, targeting minorities and security personnel and sowing communal discord.

Various incriminating materials, including digital devices, SIM cards, and digital storage devices, were seized from the searched premises during the subsequent inspections.
