North Korea Fired ‘Suspected Ballistic Missile’, Says South

Media reported that South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that North Korea launched a long-range ballistic missile

Media reported that South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that North Korea launched a long-range ballistic missile from the Pyongyang area into waters off the country’s east coast, signaling a potential new round of confrontation with Seoul and Washington.

The missile was launched at 9:59 a.m. local time and plummeted into the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea, at 11:15 a.m., according to a report citing the Japanese Coast Guard and the Ministry of Defense.

In addition, it advised vessels in the fall area to employ caution and keep an eye out for additional information.
