Thursday night, motorcycle-borne attaked hurled Molotov cocktails at two mosques in the Nuh district of Haryana’s Tauru town, according to police reports. They reported that no one was injured in the incidents that occurred around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. One mosque is close to Vijay Chowk, while the other is close to a police station. The conflagration severely damaged both mosques. As soon as the police learned about the incidents, they reportedly dispatched fire crews to the two mosques and extinguished the fires.

Unknown assailants reportedly set fire to a bangle shop in the Minar Gate market of the Palwal district. Both Nuh and Palwal districts are under prohibitory orders after communal violence erupted in Nuh on Monday when a mob attempted to halt a Vishva Hindu Parishad religious procession.

Tuesday, the violence spread to neighbouring Gurugram, where rioters murdered a religious leader, torched a restaurant, and smashed stores. According to the government of Haryana, the death toll from the violence has reached six, and 116 persons have been arrested and 90 detained.

The situation in the Nuh, Faridabad, and Palwal districts of Haryana, as well as three sub-divisions of Gurugram, remains critical and fraught, and the state government announced on Wednesday that mobile internet services will remain suspended in these areas until August 5.

The Haryana Home Secretary’s order stated that the situation in these districts remains critical and fraught. “Whereas it has been brought to my attention by the Deputy Commissioners of Nuh, Faridabad, Palwal, and Gurugram that the law and order situation in their respective districts has been reviewed and that conditions remain critical and tense,” the order stated.

The violence began in Nuh on Monday afternoon when two groups clashed after a religious procession passing through the district was attacked, leaving two home guardians dead and dozens of people, including approximately 20 police officers, injured.

Chief Minister Khattar Warns Of Strict Punishment For Accused

Manohar Lal Khattar, chief minister of Haryana, stated on Wednesday that no one implicated in the Nuh violence will be spared and that victims and their families will receive justice.

“Anyone found guilty of involvement in the Nuh violence will face stringent and decisive punishment.” Nobody will be exempted. There will be justice for the victims and their families,” he said, adding that no action will be taken against the blameless. Anil Vij, the state’s interior minister, stated that social media played a significant role in fueling the violence in Nuh.

An FIR reveals that an additional chief judicial magistrate of Nuh and her three-year-old daughter narrowly escaped an attack on their vehicle by a mob during an attack on a religious procession in the district .
