The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the state capital’s government buildings, including the Vidhan Bhavan and the Secretariat Complex, will shortly be renovated.
Wednesday, during a meeting with senior State Property Department officials, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued guidelines in this regard.
The government has already allocated Rs 50 crore for the first phase of the renovation of the Vidhan Bhavan and Secretariat buildings.
The State Property Department informed the Chief Minister during their meeting that site selection for the first phase of construction has been completed. The Department of Housing and Urban Planning will now take further action.
On the other hand, the consultant will be chosen by the department of planning. According to the assurances given, the selection procedure will be completed within three months.
Additionally, CM Yogi ordered the officers of the State Property Department to take the necessary measures prior to construction.
In addition to Vidhan Bhawan and the Secretariat complex, numerous outmoded government buildings in Lucknow will be renovated. During the meeting, the budget and action plan for this were also discussed.
The State Property Department has also concluded the selection of sites for the construction of new class-2 houses in Old Driver Colony, Dalibagh, Lucknow, as well as new class-2 and class-3 houses in Metropolitan Secretariat Colony.

Additionally, old, dilapidated residences are being demolished at both locations. The executive body has also been designated to conduct the exercise, and the process of preparing the budget and DPR is currently underway.
