Oppo has made the transition from foldable to flip phone for the first time in an intriguing way. Yes, the firm previously unveiled a foldable phone in the N series, naming it the Oppo Find N, and succeeding it in the N series is the Oppo Find N2 Flip. Today, we’ll explore at the latest Oppo Find N2 Flip, which resembles the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 introduced last year. So, let’s see if the new Oppo Find N2 Flip can pique the interest of smartphone enthusiasts.

Design

Oppo Find N2 Flip immediately reminds you of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, but it has a larger look and a lighter body design. When compared to the Samsung Flip4, the inclusion of a larger cover screen allows for more ease of use of the available widgets. The phone’s modest body weight is also attributable to its plastic construction. The key placement is identical to that of other Oppo phones, with the power button and volume rockers on the right side. The IR emitter and secondary mic are located on the phone’s top side, while the SIM tray, USB Type-C connector, and speaker grille are located on the phone’s bottom.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip comes with a wider look and comparatively lighter body design.

We received the phone in the Astral Black colour variation, which adds an aesthetic appeal. There is also a Moonlit Purple hue option available. Oppo’s second-generation Flexion Hinge was used, which helps to reduce body weight and allows for more space to fit a larger battery. The phone is simple to use and transport, fitting comfortably in the pocket. We loved how the business kept the backside minimal, with only two camera sensors and the cover screen. A larger cover screen has the issue of accumulating smudges due to hand natural posture, which can cover the screen. The front side, on the other hand, is all-screen with no bezels and a punch-hole camera sensor. It also has an in-built fingerprint sensor that responds to touch lightning quick. The phone is equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

Display

The new Oppo Find N2 Flip has a 6.8-inch LTPO, E6 AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels. It has a cinematic aspect ratio of 21:9 and an adjustable refresh rate of 120Hz. The monitor supports HDR10+ and all contents in their highest quality. The colour reproduction on the screen is extremely rich and punchy, greatly boosting the watching experience. The hinge is nearly invisible while viewing movies or playing games, and you won’t be able to see the hinge lines unless you look at it from specific angles. The business has added a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, which allows the screen to be comfortably visible in strong sunshine.

The cover screen, on the other hand, measures 3.26 inches and is the largest cover screen we’ve seen on a flip phone to date. It has a 17:9 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 900 nits. You can see up to six notifications on the cover screen and respond to all mainstream messaging applications using built-in and custom phrases.

OS

The Find N2 Flip is powered by Android 13, with an in-house layer of ColorOS 13 similar to the OnePlus 11. The UI is simple and straightforward, and the OS 13 has a number of useful functions. The OS also powers the cover screen functionality, such as the always-on display and other widget features.

Processor

The new Find N2 Flip is powered by the Dimensity 9000+, a high-end Mediatek chipset developed on a 4nm process with octa cores, one at 3.20 GHz Cortex-X2, three at 2.85 GHz Cortex-A710, and the remaining four at 1.80 GHz Cortex-A510. The processor easily handles any task with no noticeable lags. We ran high-end games like BGMI quite smoothly, which could be ascribed to the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. The processor is further supported by the 8GB of RAM. Our evaluation equipment came with 256GB of ROM storage.

Cameras

The Oppo Find N2 Flip clicks exquisite photos that are rich in detail.

Oppo’s latest Find N2 Flip features a strong camera configuration. The primary camera lens is a 50MP IMX890 wide sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The second camera has an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. We thought the images taken during the day were gorgeous and detailed. The colour balance is outstanding, with little noise and a wide dynamic range. The contrast is also excellent. The ultrawide lens is also good, but when compared to the Samsung Flip4, it falls short due to the quantity of wide range captured by the Flip4. When in portrait mode, the camera lens performs an excellent job of isolating the background.

Battery

The Oppo Find N2 Flip comes with a 4,300mAh battery, which is somewhat larger than the 3,700mAh battery found in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The phone easily lasts a day on a single charge. Another feature we appreciated about the current Oppo Find N2 Flip is its 44W rapid charging capability. The firm has included a 67W adaptor that charges the phone in approximately 50-55 minutes. Despite being a flagship phone, it falls short of the newest OnePlus 11, which includes a faster charger.
