Pakistan COAS Asim Munir: “Orchestrated May 9 violence will never be allowed again”

Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir remarked that “planned and orchestrated tragic incidents” of May 9, when military installations were targeted, will never be allowed again.

During his visit to Sialkot Garrison, the army chief stated, “No one will be permitted to disrespect our martyrs and their monuments.” They are a source of inspiration and pride for the rank-and-file of the Pakistani Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and government officials, as well as for the Pakistani people.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS Asim Munir visited Sialkot Garrison and laid a floral wreath at Martyrs’ Monument while paying a heartfelt tribute to those who gave their lives for the nation’s pride, honor, and dignity.

According to ARY News, he stated that those killed “have been promised the highest abode in the life to come” and will continue to be held in the highest regard by the Pakistani people.

COAS Munir added that the State of Pakistan and its Armed Forces will continue to hold those slain for the country and their families in the highest regard and will continue to honor them and their supreme sacrifices with the utmost respect and dignity.

The army chief emphasized that recent premeditated and orchestrated tragedies will never be tolerated under any circumstances.

The COAS reassured the troops that all those culpable for the “Black Day of May 9” would be brought to justice.

In addition, he admired subordinate formations for their diligence, dedication, high morale, and professionalism.

“The armed forces will not tolerate any further attempts to violate the sanctity and security of their installations or acts of vandalism, and have resolved to bring to justice all the planners, aiders, instigators, and “executors of vandalism on the Black Day of 9th May,” the army chief said.
