On Friday, PM Modi will electronically inaugurate 91 FM transmitters in 84 districts across 18 states and 2 union territories, boosting radio connectivity in the nation.
“The government is committed to improving FM connectivity throughout the nation. The 91 new 100 Watt FM transmitters have been installed in 84 districts spanning 18 States and 2 Union Territories, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
This expansion has placed a particular emphasis on enhancing coverage in Aspirational Districts and peripheral regions, according to the statement.
“The States and UTs covered include Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands,” PMO stated.
In addition, the PMO stated, “With this expansion of AIR’s FM service, 2 crore individuals who previously lacked access to the medium will now be covered.
