Saturday, PM Modi will inaugurate the new Chennai Airport terminal. In Tamil Nadu, security has been increased prior to his arrival. The prime minister stated in a tweet that the cutting-edge structure will improve connectivity and stimulate the economy. The new terminal building is part of the second segment of Chennai Airport Modernisation.
In addition, PM Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat train between Chennai and Coimbatore at the Puratchi Thalaivar Dr M G R Central Railway Station.
Later, the PM Modi will take part in the 125th annual day celebrations of Ramakrishna Mutt at Vivekanandhar Illam on the Kamarajar Salai (Beach Road) and will also launch infrastructure initiatives in Pallavaram.

Five key characteristics of the new Chennai airport terminal:
- According to the ministry of civil aviation, the new addition to Chennai airport is 2,200,000 square meters in size and can accommodate nearly 35 million commuters annually.
- To expedite transit procedures, arrival and departure points will have 54 immigration counters at each location.
- The integrated terminal structure, constructed at a cost of 1,260 crore, is a tribute to the local Tamil culture and features traditional elements such as the kolam, saree, and temples. For example, the ceilings feature motif lamps that represent Kolam patterns. The columns and pillars are made of stainless steel champagne strips, which impart a golden hue.
- The Skylight, which uses natural light to illuminate the interior of the building and reduces energy consumption, is an additional feature.
- Eleven automatic tray retrieval systems (ATRS) for carry-on baggage and thirty-three remote boarding gates will facilitate a more efficient screening procedure. Self-service baggage drop via boarding pass recognition will also expedite check-in procedures.
