Punjab cops didn’t act against Amritpal Singh supporters to avoid sacrilege: AAP MLA

Amripal Singh supporters allegedly carried a copy of the “Guru Granth Sahib” to Ajnala Police station on Thursday.

heA day after Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh and his supporters stormed the Ajnala Police station to liberate his aide, an AAP minister clarified that the police were restrained because the self-proclaimed Sikh preacher had brought a copy of the Guru Granth Sahib to the station.

“In Ajnala, Amritpal Singh engaged in lawlessness. The national media are constructing numerous theories. I wish to make it abundantly obvious that the Punjab Police and the Punjab government are extremely powerful “AAP MLA Aman Arora said.He asserted that the on-duty police officers may have taken action against the demonstrators if Amritpal Singh’s supporters had not brought a copy of the Guru Granth Sahib to the police station.

“Because of religious sentiments, the Punjab Constabulary refrained from using force. Guru Granth Sahib was being transported by Amritpal  to the police station. The Punjab Police exercised restraint out of reverence for Guru Granth Sahib “Aman Arora said. The Punjab minister posed a query to the head of Waris Punjab De, Amritpal Singh “The individual who discusses Sikhism brings Guru Granth Sahib to the police station. Is that correct?”

The minister stated that he used religion to exert pressure in order to have a FIR filed against him revoked.”He attempted to cause a commotion to avoid detention, which is unjustified. Due to the presence of the Guru Granth Sahib, the police did not intervene “Aman Arora said.

The AAP leader stated that the complainant, Varinder Singh, was once an Amritpal Singh supporter. Following his social media questioning of Amritpal Singh, he was allegedly abducted and beaten.”Now the law will be enforced. The FIR has consequently been registered, “Aman Arora said.

DGP Gaurav Yadav stated, “We had guaranteed that the investigation (into the complaint lodged against Amritpal Singh and others) would be impartial and transparent. They were permitted to demonstrate peacefully. However, they assaulted the authorities. As they approached with the Guru Granth Sahib, the police showed restraint. The DGP condemned the disciples of Amritpal Singh’s “cowardly attack.” He added, “We are in the process of identifying the dissidents. They will be held accountable.”
