BJP means people first, instead of family first: PM At Meghalaya Rally

PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress over Pawan Khera’s “Modi teri kabar khudegi” remark, during an election rally in poll-bound Meghalaya.

PM At Meghalaya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress and the governing National Peoples’ Party (NPP) in Meghalaya on Friday, stating that the state requires a “people-first” government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rather than a “family-first” government.
“I have received a great deal of love and blessings from you, and I will not squander them. After a roadshow, PM Modi told an election meeting in Shillong, “I will repay this debt by developing Meghalaya and expediting projects for your welfare.”

PM Modi, who addressed an election rally in Dimapur, Nagaland, earlier in the day, will address another election rally in Tura, Meghalaya, approximately 300 kilometres from the state capital of Shillong.Meghalaya and Nagaland both hold elections on February 27.

“Meghalaya desires a stable and powerful government led by a powerful party. Instead of those who put family first, we will provide you with a government that puts people first, said Prime Minister Modi.

In 2018, the BJP contested 47 assembly seats but only won two: Pynthorumkhrah (Alexander Laloo Hek) and South Shillong (Sanbor Shullai), a cabinet minister in the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government. This time around, the BJP has fielded candidates for all sixty seats and aims to emerge as the largest party.

Without naming Congress, Prime Minister Modi stated that those who have been rejected by the nation wish for his death, whereas the populace want Modi’s lotus (BJP symbol) to flourish.”The citizens of Meghalaya and Nagaland will respond appropriately to such individuals. Modi stated that everyone in Meghalaya’s highlands, plains, cities, and villages believes the BJP will form the next government.

The prime minister alleged that previous administrations in Meghalaya prioritised avarice over the state’s development. “However, since the BJP came to power at the Centre in 2014 and took initiatives to develop Meghalaya and the rest of the northeastern region, the situation has improved,” he said.Modi added, “If there is a BJP government in Meghalaya, it will be simpler for me to serve you better.”
