Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC Could Launch Early, Get 25% Performance Increase

It is quite possible that the new Snapdragon chipset will be used in flagship devices that are released later on in this year.

Just a few months ago, in November 2022, Qualcomm debuted the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Now, the firm is apparently preparing to introduce its next chip. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is most likely to be the following Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. According to a recent rumour, the SoC will debut earlier than expected. It is anticipated to be revealed in the last three months of 2023. The processor’s single-core and multi-core Geekbench scores as well as its CPU performance have also been mentioned.

The next Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC will be released at some point in the fourth quarter of this year, according to well-known tipper Digital Chat Station on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor will debut a little sooner than its predecessor did last year, claims the tipper. Even though the forthcoming 8 Gen 3 SoC introduction is still months away, it is predicted to provide higher performance with reduced power consumption. A Korean tech forum published the forthcoming SoC’s Geekbench ratings, which indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC will have a roughly 25% increase in CPU performance over the 8 Gen 2 SoC.

According to reports, the single-core and multi-core Geekbench scores for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC were 1,930 and 6,236, respectively. Most flagship phones that debut in the fourth quarter of 2023 and after are likely to be powered by Snapdragon’s next top-of-the-line CPU.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which has a maximum clock speed of 3.2GHz, is doing well in the meanwhile. At the annual Snapdragon Tech Summit in November of last year, the SoC was introduced. The chipset, which utilises a 4nm manufacturing technology, is the first Qualcomm mobile processor to support Nvidia’s INT4 AI precision format, which offers sustained AI inferencing performance improvements of 60%.
