According to reports, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s 12 Tughlaq Lane home in Delhi has been reallocated after his parliamentary membership was reinstated. He had left the home in April of this year, following his disqualification as an MP.
The home has been allocated to him again, according to reports, now that the Supreme Court has stayed his conviction in the ‘Modi’ surname criminal defamation case and his MP status has been restored.When questioned about regaining his formal house as an MP, Rahul informed news agency ANI, “Mera ghar poora Hindustan hai (Whole of India is my home)”.

Rahul received the home for the first time in 2004 after winning the Amethi constituency in the national elections.The Lok Sabha Housing Committee has served Rahul Gandhi with a notice to vacate his residence at 12 Tughlaq Lane on April 22.
A disqualified MP is not entitled to government housing and has one month to remove his official dwelling.Rahul wrote to the Lok Sabha secretariat’s deputy secretary, Mohit Rajan, in April, writing, “Thank you for your letter of March 27, 2023 regarding the cancellation of my accommodation at 12, Tughlaq Lane.”
Rahul Gandhi wrote in the letter that he owed the “happy memories of my time spent here” to the people’s mandate. “Without prejudice to my rights, I will, of course, abide by the details contained in your letter,” he continued.
