On Friday, Kashmir divisional commissioner VK Bidhuri stated that the reclaimed government land will be used for the benefit of the general populace, therefore the poor should not be alarmed.
Before taking the role of Kashmir divisional commissioner, Bidhuri was the J&K revenue secretary. He stated that the government is now solidifying its position.
He stated that the lieutenant governor made it clear that the needy will not be harassed during the eviction campaign. “I promise individuals that no action will be taken against them. And yet, if they do not get this, what can be done?” Bidhuri said.

AAP goes on hunger strike in Srinagar
The Aam Aadmi Party announced on Friday that it has begun a hunger strike in Srinagar to demand that the Jammu and Kashmir administration issue a legal order exempting impoverished people and merchants from the ongoing anti-encroachment action.
“Our vice president Nazir Ahmad Ittoo began his hunger strike last night, but we were not permitted to sit in the Press Colony owing to security concerns.” We had to relocate to our office,” said Mudasir Hassan, a youth leader with the AAP. “The hunger strike will continue until the administration issues an official order,” he continued.
