Team India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was injured in a road accident last year. Pant was going to Roorkee in his Mercedes car when this accident happened with him. After the accident, Rishabh Pant was first treated at Max Hospital in Dehradun. Then he was shifted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.
Now Rishabh Pant has posted social media for the first time after the accident. Pant has told that his surgery has been successful and is ready for the challenges ahead. Pant also thanked BCCI, fans, government authority for supporting him in this difficult time. Pant also wants to return to the field soon.
Rishabh Pant wrote, ‘I am feeling very humbled and grateful to everyone for the support and wishes. I am happy to inform you that my surgery was successful. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead.

Pant further wrote, ‘From the bottom of my heart I would also like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors and physios for their kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to seeing all of you on the field.
Rishabh Pant had undergone ligament reconstruction surgery at Kokilaben Hospital. Now Rishabh Pant is expected to have another surgery within the next six weeks. In such a situation, this wicket-keeper batsman is likely to be out of the IPL and Asia Cup as well as the ODI World Cup to be held in October-November.
After the car accident, MRI of Pant’s brain and spinal cord was done at Max Hospital. But due to swelling and pain, MRI of his knee and ankle could not be done. It appears that Pant will require surgery on both ankle and knee. It usually takes 6-8 months to recover from knee ligament surgery.

Rishabh Pant’s survival in the accident was no less than a miracle. His car collided with the divider after which it caught fire. Pant somehow managed to get out of the car. Haryana Roadways bus driver Sushil helped him a lot. Later the bus driver and conductor were also rewarded by the Uttarakhand government.
