Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s office said Wednesday that all UK students must study Math till age 18. In his first speech of the year, Rishi Sunak is expected to discuss his priorities for 2023.

8 million adults in England have the numeracy skills of first graders, the Prime Minister’s office said. Only about half of 16-19-year-olds study math, and the problem is especially acute for disadvantaged students, 60% of whom lack basic math skills at age 16.
